A truly bonkers week of non stop fun, regardless which way you look at it. South Africa is always special, you name it from the hospitality, the food and wine, the space, colours, wildlife and it’s really at a time of year that shouts “escape” to the sun. A big thanks again to John for having the perfect spot and Kathy for, well being Kathy:) And a group hug for getting away incident less after the fleeting visit of the stray Octopus. On the water action was constantly entertaining, we had Marije going big and some cheeky toe side, must be the strompwaffles. Miguelito was kite looping like a legend and some of those raleys were sublime – not to mention your food marathon, and will anyone forget Pennywise. Kiwi Steve, everyone’s favourite rocket scientist was either going huge or styling out countless moves – both sides with a quick cameo as Nacho Libre. Tanja definitely regained her confidence after a forced sabbatical, finding some good air and rekindling her love of rotations, big back loops. New additions to the team, sisters Lena & Christa, took to the skies, popped to toeside, rolled and even flopped into dark slides, whilst mistaking confusing sea life:) Pablo, OK Tobi, survived Tom’s driving but was slightly beaten by over exuberance – loads of tacks and those hanging large air gybes…!!! Per made it his mission to be one of the highest and certainly was – quite a view from down here on planet earth. Tom, although escaping the photo sessions was on fire, those back loop kite loop hand washes were pure gold and the download air gybes will go down in the annals of history. And Janine, going backwards with style, very blind and what about those surfboard tacks – lovely. As for the evening entertainments we can only smile at the memories of laughter and everyone must be applauded for a mighty fine fancy dress turn out, the big 5 indeed, dancing and all…….
