To be frank this was not your typical January in South Africa. Unseasonal weather with light and sporadic winds don’t bode well for a kite clinic. This meant that we had plenty of adapting to do, much pondering of forecasts and our previous experiences over the years. As it transpired we still got out more than anticipated and some wonderfully epic sessions were had, from big kites and shorts at Shark bay to howling and cold off the front. The team put in a fantastic show of relentless positivity so that good humour remained throughout. As ever there was some great progress on the water, the odd overindulgence in all things South African and of course fancy dress night did not disappoint. It really goes to show that the right attitude is often rewarded – even it it leaves you wanting just that bit more….
